Woolly Bugger Kit – 24 Bead Head Buggers
$29.00
If you could only carry one fly, this might be it. The Woolly Bugger looks like a leech, a baitfish, a crayfish or a big nymph, depending on how you fish it, and trout, bass and panfish all eat it. This kit has 24 bead head Buggers in the four colors that cover nearly every water condition.
Picked by a professional fly fishing guide. Every fly in this kit earned its spot on real guide trips: these are the patterns we tie on for clients day after day, in the sizes trout actually eat. No filler flies, no colors that only catch fishermen.
What's inside
| Pattern | Hook sizes | Flies | When to fish it |
|---|---|---|---|
| BH Woolly Bugger, Black | 8, 10 | 6 | Low light, dirty water and overcast days. The color to start with. |
| BH Woolly Bugger, Olive | 8, 10 | 6 | The everyday choice in clear water. Imitates leeches, dragonfly nymphs and baitfish. |
| BH Woolly Bugger, Brown | 8, 10 | 6 | Crayfish and sculpins. Bounce it along rocky bottoms. |
| BH Woolly Bugger, White | 8, 10 | 6 | Baitfish imitation for bass, lakes and big predatory trout. |
How to use it
- Strip it: cast across, let it sink, then retrieve in short, sharp strips. Hold on, because the eats are aggressive.
- Swing it: cast across and downstream and let the current swing it across the run. Great for covering water.
- Dead-drift it: fish it under an indicator like a big nymph in high or off-color water.
- Pick a color by light: dark colors in low light or dirty water, lighter colors on bright days in clear water.
It's a perfect add-on to the Dry Fly or Nymph Collection when you want something for high water, big fish, or a slow day.
